Half|pipe ['ha:fpa̮ip ], die; -, -s [engl. halfpipe, eigtl. = Halbrohr, aus: half = halb u. pipe = Rohr]:
wie eine große Rinne mit halbkreisförmigem Querschnitt geformte Bahn, auf der Kunststücke mit dem Skateboard od. (bei Ausstattung mit einer Schneeoberfläche) mit dem Snowboard ausgeführt werden können.

Ä., in der Kunststücke mit dem Skateboard od. (bei Ausstattung mit einer Schneeoberfläche) mit dem Snowboard ausgeführt werden können: H.? Ein monströses, senkrecht aufgestelltes U, zumeist aus Sperrholz, an dessen beiden oberen Enden Terrassen angebracht sind (Zeit 4. 10. 96, 76); Man trifft sich nicht mehr auf der Piste, sondern in der H. (Zeit 6. 12, 96, 63); H. Das ist eine 120 Meter lange und 15 Meter breite Schneerinne, die an beiden Seiten in drei Meter hohe Wände übergeht (Zeit 7. 2. 97, 73).
